One of a series of designs - inspired by ancient medicinal plants - created by Allan Scott for the Whitefriars Collection at Caithness. Hellebore foetidus is said to have been used by Hercules to cure a bout of madness. The clear glass is set with 2 pale-green buds and 2 flowers in full bloom against pale- and dark-green leaves. 5 notch-cuts of differing lengths decorate the lower half of the spherical weight, which has polished front and rear facets and stands on a flat base.
The base is scratch-numbered 72-100 and signed by Allan Scott.
