Sculpted in hot glass by lampworker Allan Scott and set within a circle of fine pale-pink, white & green millefiori canes over clear ground, this apricot rose crowned with green leaves was issued in a small edition of 70 pieces to honour 70 years of Service to the Nation (1923-1993) by Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. The weight has a top window, 4 round side facets with 4 flute cuts between them. Inscribed around the outer edge of the star-cut base: Glamis Rose Caithness Scotland and numbered 69/70. Scratch-signed: Allan Scott. (Original certificate) This is not the paperweight illustrated in the Charlton Standard Catalogue but was a specially-commissioned edition !
