Possibly a one-off piece made to commemorate a special occasion, the weight is signed “SL” but has no date cane. The ruby single-overlay encloses a mushroom, with closely-packed complex and relatively simple millefiori canes. The colours - greens, blues, pinks, red and turquoise - are stronger than the somewhat pallid tones seen in early weights ca. 1953/54. Cut with a circular top window and 5 side facets; polished, concave base with a wide basal rim.
