Pansy - Artist’s Proof (1998)
Allan Scott's artist’s proof (ca. 1997) for a Whitefriars Collection paperweight, produced in 1998 in a small edition (only 34) and a slightly modified version (no facets) as “Pansy Latticino”. Enclosed in a garland of red-centred blue pastry-mould canes is a pansy with purple upper petals and amber lower petals with black markings on a bed of upset muslin. Around the flowerhead are the tips of green leaves; there is a bud to the left and a stalk bearing green leaves to the right.
6 +1 facetting; scratch-signed on the flat, polished base: Pansy artist’s original Allan Scott.
