A domed weight issued to mark the 25th anniversary of the first lunar landing in 1969. The design - by Colin Terris - is an interpretation of that historic moment when the first manned spacecraft touched down on the moon. The brownish-white surface of the moon is set over an amethyst colour ground. The weights is intricately cut with 12 concave side facets, notch cuts and 6 facets rising to meet at the top of the dome. The flat, polished base is scratch-signed Lunar Touchdown Caithness Scotland and numbered 50-50.
