A popular pattern that the artist made throughout his long career. 5 circlets of canes - combining simple cogs and tubes with composite canes - set around a 2-row complex centre cane with 5 canes spaced around the perimeter between the clusters. Colours range from coral-pink, pale-green, yellow & light blue to cobalt-blue, bright-green & orange. The pattern is set on a mottled, translucent dark-amber ground (appears black!) Fire-polished, concave base with a small, smooth “button-like” pontil. Slight yellowish tint to the glass - probably Moncrieff period (late 1940/50s).
