A great weight for someone who wants a good Ysart at a reasonable price ! A beautiful star design - meticulously-executed on an unusual opaque pale-cream ground. 6 different types of complex millefiori canes plus 2 simpler canes around the cobalt-blue, orange, white & green centre cane. The canes spaced around the perimeter are repeats of the amber, yellow & orange canes in the centre - but there is a ca. 60mm (2 3/8") long annealing crack in the base and into the bottom part of the dome! Although not obvious when viewed from the usual angle - see main picture - it’s still there ! The high-domed weight has a brownish-purple tint to the glass. Fire-polished, deeply concave base with only a small, rough pontil mark.
