A year before St. Louis produced its famous “Clichy basket” design, the company issued another design which had traditionally been associated with Clichy - the swirl. For good measure it added another Clichy element: a rose. Rather than choose a “trademark” pink & green rose, the one in the centre of this miniature swirl weight is a red-centred pale-yellow rose. Concave, polished base with wear ring. One of the few unsigned Modern St. Louis weights. Original box and certificate.
