Although it has an SL1974 signature/date cane - the “C” canes in this honeycomb are deep maroon rather than red. Perhaps it was a colour trial or prototype as the canes are not so fine as usual, nor are they perfectly aligned, which makes it appear tightly packed. It coould have been one of the first weights in the edition, made without the perfection seen in later weights...but a prototype or possibly colour trial seems more likely...which again makes it interesting for collectors. The polished concave base has a wide basal rim.
