1970 Blue Overlay with Mushroom (Ed. 200)

A blue-on-white double overlay from St. Louis’ first Annual Edition. (The overlay was made in 4 different colours). 6 large printies in the overlay reveal a mushroom, with 6 rows of millefiori canes displaying a variety of colours although the overall tonality is bluish-mauve. The outer canes - red/white stars set in white-lined blue staves - form a tapering stem, which is rich in colour at the top, gradually becoming paler towards the base.
The mushroom is centred by an SL1970 signature/date cane.
