Although only issued in 1987, this PP98 has a P1986 date cane - so possibly a prototype and dated the year it was designed! Set on a translucent mottled amethyst ground, the weight has a central arrangement of complex millefiori canes in shades of blue, pink, green & dark-grey. This is encircled by a hexagon composed of 6 short pink & green rods laid lengthwise - with a mauve & white star at each corner - and then a border garland of alternating blue & green and pink & green complex canes. The polished, concave base still bears the original Perthshire factory sticker plus the P1986 signature/date cane.
