The standard version of this miniature weight has a black ground - here it’s an opaque, smokey-grey. The 4 flowers are accompanied by 2 sprays of blue & yellow buds, green leaves and stems. Probably it was a trial version, which was discarded in favour of the black ground. Signed in the concave, polished base with a complex “P” cane but not dated or numbered.
