The sunflower usually has 11 or 12 petals and an outer garland of 15 or16 pairs of green leaves and spaced canes, whereas this pale-amber flower has only 9 deeply-cupped petals. It also has a short stem and the tips of 4 green leaves showing behind the flower (which are not present in the standard version) and the outer garland has only 14 pairs of leaves alternating with millefiori canes.
Set on an opaque burnt-sienna ground underlaid with opaque white, it has a P1979 signature/date cane in the polished, concave base.
