An underwater scene produced in the artist’s studio at Kilwinning (1979-1981); an encounter between a blue aventurine manta ray - with yellow & black eyes & a long whip-like tail - and a green aventurine fish with a row of yellow spots along both sides of its body. The sandy ocean floor is covered in marine life and sediment. The colour ground is translucent amethyst.
In the centre of the flat, polished base is a black/white WM80 signature/date cane. The weight is scratch-numbered 42/150 and scratch-signed: William Manson.
