A theme to which the artist has returned many times - the bat cave. Within a light-brown cave, amidst stalagmites and stalactites, a solitary bat is flying around its prey - a spider hanging on a fine thread. The weight is covered with an amethyst flash overlay. Inscribed and numbered around the edge of the flat, polished base: Cavern, Caithness, Scotland 14/250. (Includes the original certificate, which confirms that the weight was designed and made by William Manson) Only 145 of the planned edition of 250 were actually produced.
