A magnum one-of-a-kind weight with 3 butterflies above a stem bearing 2 salmon roses in full bloom, dark-green leaves and - somewhat incongruously - a white & yellow narcissus. The 3 insects have different coloured wings - glittering pink, blue and copper aventurine - with yellow eye-spots and yellow-spotted edges. A small WM signature cane is set at the base of the stem. A delightful design with all the hallmarks of this artist’s flair for lampwork. The weight is cut with a large circular top facet, geometric side faceting, and the base has a 24-point starburst. There is an amber flash around the bottom of the weight and the basal rim is fully signed: William Manson Snr. 2001 1/1.
