A complex feature cane - with a stylized Japanese anemone, 5 swallowtail butterfly silhouettes & 5 miniature anemones - and strong colouring, make this a stunning one-off design. In the 2nd row 5 Emperor swallowtail butterfly silhouettes alternate with pink & pale-yellow canes. The stronger colours of the other complex millefiori - blues & dark-greens, dark & pale-blue enclosed in purple rods and mustard yellow, blue & white in the border garland - give the design its dramatic effect. The canes are underlaid with a translucent, pale-amethyst colour ground above white star staves. The flat, polished base is signed with an "MH" cane, scratch-signed M Hunter Twists 12 1of1 and inscribed “Monozite”.
