One of the most attractive of the “Millefiori Miniature” series designed by Allan Scott: a butterfly in flight. Its body and antennae are fashioned from copper aventurine; the outstretched wings from flattened millefiori canes - pink & white fore wings with a red eye, pale-yellow & white hind wings with a blue eye. The insect - encircled by pale-blue cog canes - is set on a delft-blue opaque colour ground. The weight is cut with a circular top facet.
