“Three delicate blooms in a peaceful country pool” was how Colin Terris described this wedge-shaped design issued in 1985. The pallid tones - aquamarine, shades of pink and the pale-amethyst flash sround the top - are reminiscent of the colours Monet used in his impressionist paintings of the water lilies in his garden at Giverny. Polished oval facets on both sides taper up to the chisel-edged top. The flat, polished base is faintly acid-etched: Caithness Pastorale Scotland and scratch-numbered 42/500.
