1976 Gridel Lovebirds (Ed. 350)

Six square-shaped groups of blue & white millefiori canes and a circle of white canes frame the Gridel lovebirds silhouette cane in the centre. 17 other Gridel silhouette canes - plus a B1977 signature/date cane - are spaced in groups around the perimeter of this magnum weight over a semi-translucent green over white ground.
Acid-etched Baccarat insignia on the flat, polished base plus date and edition number (261).
The literature generally refers to the Lovebirds as having been issued in 1977. However this is not borne out by this weight, which has a 1976 date cane and is etched 1976 on the base. As the edition number is 261 it would certainly appear that most of the weights (if not all) were, in fact, produced in 1976 !
