Borne on a gracefully-curving brown stem - with a trailing root system and small bright-green leaves - is a white aster with a double layer of pointed rays around a speckled yellow & brown stamen. Behind it, a second flower is about to open. Encased in clear glass above a black pedestal foot. Scratch-signed and dated: Mayauel Ward 2008.
