Nature Study Botanical (2000)

The clear crystal of the slightly tapering upright weight encloses a sprig of white pineland pickerel, variegated green leaves and a bursting seed pod. An ant has made itself at home on one of the white flowers. Inscribed on a side shoot is the word “FERTILE” and the complex root system is inhabited by an “earth spirit”.
The lower portion is laminated with translucent claret-coloured strips. One side is scratched-signed Paul J Stankard and dated 2000. The polished base is flat and unmarked - protected by 4 bump-ons in each corner.
