Meadow Rue is a perennial herbaceous plant, which bears small yellow and pink flowers. The flowers grow in clusters with 4 or 5 sepals but without petals. Here, the artist has set the plant behind a branch with speckled rocks and wilted blades of grass - over clear ground.
