A mystery 19th Century Continental weight; the clear crystal is set with 23 millefiori canes - and it was probably made in an - as yet unidentified - French glassworks. Amongst the relatively simple 3-colour starcanes are a number of extremely complex canes such as the white tube -set in ruby glass - which is filled with 11stars and tiny pink rods. There are 13 different cane types so presumably the glassworks was experienced in producing millefiori. The deep concave base is polished and has a narrow wear rim.
