Although slightly off-centre, this is an excellent example of a post-classic German weight. A well made centre cane encircled by 2 spaced rings of complex millefiori canes including green, yellow, blue & white cog canes, pink & blue composite canes surrounded by an outer row of 8 smaller canes and 7 dark-blue, white, pale-blue & yellow cogs - all set on swirling blue & white latticinio threads. Judging by the type and quality of the canes, the tidy set-up and the unusual blue & white latticinio ground, the weight was probably made in one of the Silesian glassworks. The base is flat and lightly ground - now showing considerable signs of wear.
