A trial weight from the Egermann workshop in Haida, Bohemia. Centred around an 8-toothed white cane, pairs of canes form a 6-point star. The majority of the 8-tooth canes are filled with 7 tiny millefiori canes - in pink, blue & green around a central white cane - although you need a magnifying glass to see them. (For the type see Peter von Brackel’s book “Classic Paperweights from Silesia/Bohemia” pages 222/223). 2 white canes and the burgundy canes are filled with yellow rods; the single yellow/white cane has brown rods. (A “rogue” cane fills the space between the two upper points of the star). The low-domed weight has a broad basal rim and a polished central concavity.
