Pinks and pale-yellows with stronger reds, dark-blue and ochre in the border garland, provide a background for the ring of white roses and the single deep-red rose, which give this paperweight its name. Beautiful gardens were laid out in the Tudor period - after the Wars of the Roses between the white rose of the House of York and the red rose of the House of Lancaster. This delightful one-off design is set on a translucent, pale-amethyst colour ground above radiating, blue-lined white star staves.
The flat, polished base of “Tudor Garden” is signed with an"MH" cane and scratch-signed: M Hunter Twists 12 1of1.
