Minimalist, mesmerising - a design by Margot Thomson issued in 1989. From the amber-flashed base - with its sprinkling of glistening white crystalline - topaz and jade rings swirl around the spherical weight enclosing 2 closely-intertwined, pointed silvery crescents. Although the two forms snake around each other, they never actually touch - the design is an expresssion of the “affinity” between them.
The flat, polished base is acid-etched: Caithness Affinity Scotland and scratch-numbered 95/750.
(In fact, the edition only numbered approx 640).
