With the revival of paperweight production in the 1950s, Baccarat initially concentrated on perfecting millefiori designs and only later added lampwork to their range.
This is a relatively early example displaying 3 pinkish-mauve fantasy flowers, each with 5 ribbed petals around a white millefiori cane centre. The flowers are borne on 3 green stems with 3 pointed green leaves...floating above a translucent deep cobalt-blue ground. Set below the bottom leaf is a pale-yellow B1970 signature/date cane.
The polished base is flat and has 2 etched Baccarat insignia, one of which is partially covered by the recessed number (177) and the date 1970.
