A neatly set up chequer - centred by a white & deep-burgundy cane - on a bed of upset muslin with latticinio cables separating the other 17 canes. In addition to the deep-pink & green rose in the lst row, the weight contains a rare white shard rose with pale-purple sepals, “hidden” in the complex cobalt-blue/pink/white millefiori cane at 1 o’clock in the 1st picture. Good range of Clichy canes, with smaller ones in the centre and larger canes around the periphery.
Unusually broad basal rim around a polished base with a central concavity.
Provenance: with Delomosne & Son Ltd., London, December 1941.
