Early Bacchus or a weight from an, as yet, unidentified English glassworks ? One thing is for sure - it’s a true magnum at 107mm (4 1/4")! Small cogs and rods in the centre are surrounded by irregularly-shaped white collars containing numerous tiny blue, white & red rods plus a partial row of pink & white stars sheathed in translucent cobalt-blue. Other randomly-placed canes contain pale-pink rods. This centre cluster is encircled by a row of alternating canes and an outer row of purple-lined white cogs with air bubbles placed precisely between them.
The canes in the outer row are not drawn underneath in classic Bacchus-style! The lightly-ground rough pontil protrudes slightly - otherwise the weight is in excellent condition.
