From the style of the weight, profile and unfinished pontil, this closepack must be attributed to the later Bacchus period (ca. 1870s), although a number of the canes match canes found in earlier (classical) Bacchus weights. The overall tonality is pink, red and white with splashes of blue and green. Interspersed among the canes are 4 distorted black on white silhouette canes, which also appear in classical Bacchus weights.
The weight is cut with a small top facet and 3 rows of side facets. The base has a deep concavity with a lightly-polished pontil mark.
