Concentric On Muslin; 3 Silhouettes

Another classic paperweight from the Josephinenhütte - the Josephine glassworks - in Schreiberhau in Silesia. Surrounding a dark-green Prussian eagle silhouette are 14 complex canes - set in 2 rows - including 2 further silhouettes (a white monkey and a colourful butterfly on a white ground). The muslin cushion, interwoven with green, blue, red and yellow filigree and ribbons rises high into the dome.
The small polished basal concavity is surrounded by a wide basal rim.
