Sparkling Scrambled
A medium-size scrambled in which the unknown maker liberally scattered copper aventurine to give the weight its sparkling effect. The weight is unusual in that it is mainly filled with white latticinio, interwoven with only a few short sections of tightly-twisted ribbons in just 3 colours: red, blue & aquamarine. An attractive example of a mid-19th Century Venetian paperweight with a low dome and slightly uneven surface.
The basal concavity is relatively deep with a rough surface and slightly protruding pontil mark.
