4 different types of colourful millefiori canes - on a cushion of polychrome cane fragments - were used to make this unusually large post-classic weight, which was most likely produced in a Silesian glassworks. The glassmaker certainly took a great deal of trouble to make the white corrugated canes with blue markings which alternate with coral-pink, white and yellow corrugated florets. The outer row consists of complex white, pink and blue florets.
The glass in the relatively high dome - which has a couple of small bubbles - has a faint purplish tint. The flat base is lightly-ground and shows signs of wear.
