Saturday, 14th April: as we have had enquiries about weights from Peter McDougall - now that he has closed his studio - we have listed a couple of General Range weights that we received with our last order.

Sunday, 29th January: only one artist is featured in our new insertions: Mike Hunter - with a great cross-section of his latest weights - with new silhouettes, complex canes and stunning colour combinations. There are a couple of older weights amongst them, which somehow got into the wrong boxes in the storeroom - unusual, because Mike’s paperweights are generally fast movers.

Tuesday, 10th January: a New Year and new updates - for example, a number of Perthshires from the Annual Collections, one-off designs from Peter Holmes and some colourful Caithness abstracts.
We are currently working on updating our Modern Paperweight Archive but it’s a major task!
A number of people have asked why paperweights appear in the Archive as recently sold, that haven’t been on the website. That’s because sometimes customers visit us just after we have taken delivery of new weights and immediately buy them! So if you’re looking for something in particular, do contact us - we may well just have acquired it or it’s in stock, but not yet on the website.

Saturday, 17th December: Peter McDougall will be closing his Glass Studio by the end of the year and as we recently picked up a few weights from him, we are updating Peter’s page first - because, of course, these are likely to be the last weights (except for the couple we have on order) that we will be getting from the Studio. The news that Peter has decided to close his studio in Crieff, will certainly come as a surprise - and a shock - to the many collectors who admire his work. It means the loss of another leading Scottish paperweight maker. We will miss our chats and meetings with Peter and Catherine on our trips up to Scotland and wish them all the best for the future.

Wednesday 14th December: although we have acquired quite a number of new and good pre-owned paperweights over the last couple of months, the fact that we were travelling in England for nearly 2 weeks in November and that Bernd has just returned from another 12 days in England and Scotland (the PCC and NPS Christmas meetings) has meant that we have neglected to update our website. We apologize to all those who visit our site regularly and hope that we will be able to get some new stock listed soon.

Sunday 16th October: new insertions on our website this week include Whitefriars and Modern French;
4 Baccarat weights from the 1970s and 8 St. Louis Annual Editions from 1970 to 2005. There was a lot of interest when we announced a Large Whitefriars Butterfly last week - and, of course, it has already been reserved. There was also a good deal of interest in a couple of other items as well.

Sunday, 11th September: Scottish updates this week; new “rose” weights from Mike Hunter; great lampwork from William Manson (whose work we seldom acquire), and lampwork & millefiori from Paul Ysart. Mike Hunter has made a range of rose canes in a variety of colours and we have 4 new "Rose" series weights plus a couple of others. We have also managed to acquire a couple of one-off William Manson weights, along with a couple of other of his designs and a “mixed bag” of Ysart pieces, including weights from the 1930s, 1940/50s and 1960 Caithness.

Sunday, August 28th: rounding off our American artists update are Rick Ayotte and Melissa, Jim Brown, Cape Cod, Charles Kaziun Jr., Lotton Studios, Lundberg Studios, Cathy Richardson and Debbie Tarsitano.
The 2 weights we have from Jim Brown are the first since he got “back into business” again. From Lundberg Studios we have various colour versions of the popular “Opium Poppies”. The Kaziun section includes a couple of his #1 weight - the spiderlily. There are a couple of excellent magnums - a bouquet from Rick Ayotte and a superb weight from Debbie Tarsitano with a Paul Ysart butterfly over a golden-bronze dahlia!

Sunday, August 7th: American artists feature in today’s listings with new work from Ken Rosenfeld and Mayauel Ward and one weight each from Colin Richardson and Gordon Smith. Ken is now also making weights in a size between his “miniatures” and his larger weights which were generally ca. 3 1/8"- 3 1/4" (80mm - 83mm) - we have one illustrated - and is making more use of colour grounds.

Friday, July 29th: a variety of new insertions today - Chris Buzzini, Damon MacNaught, Peter McDougall, Perthshire Annuals and Paul Ysart...plus a couple of copies of the PCA 2011 Bulletin.
The paperweights include a beautiful Buzzini mixed floral bouquet; 3 weights from American artist Damon MacNaught - although 2 are already reserved; new weights from Peter McDougall Glass Studio; a couple of early weights from the Perthshire Annual Collection plus a couple of later ones; and a 8 Paul Ysart weights from the 1930s to the 1970s.

Monday, July 11th: Antique weights make up today’s website update: France (Baccarat, Clichy, St Louis & St. Mandé), England (incl. Bacchus), Bohemia/Silesia, America (NEGC), Germany (post-classic) and Venice.

Sunday, June 5th: new listings include John & Craig Deacons (10), some new and older weights from Allan Scott (9) and an artist who has been missing from our pages for a while Peter Holmes (5).

Tuesday, May 3rd: well, I guess we were over-optimistic about re-doing our Archive of sold weights, which we notice from our monthly print-outs gets a surprising number of clicks. We can’t cut-and-paste the images from the old website, as those on the new website have a completely different format, so each picture has to be re-worked.

However, having de-activated some of the weights on the website - as we have them with us in England for the 2 fairs we are visiting - we have at least tried to give those of you who check out the Archive, something new to look at - a cross-section of beautiful Antique Bacchus and Bohemian/Silesian weights that have passed through our hands over the space of the last few years!

Wednesday March 23rd: amongst today’s new insertions are Modern Baccarat, small edition Caithness, a new version of the Peter McDougall closepack and a miniature Ken Rosenfeld bouquet.
In the meantime we have acquired some 19th Century Venetian scrambleds, a couple of Silesian and Thuringian post-classic weights, 2 excellent Egermann weights from Bohemia, and a red-stained engraved Bohemian weight plus a small Silesian spaced on muslin from the Josephinenhütte. But with Bernd being away next week for the PCC southeast meeting and the Ceramic and Glass Fair in Dulwich, it’ll be a couple of weeks before we can get them uploaded.

March 20th:
we have re-organized our Accessories page so that all Stands now have individual Stock Numbers - for those customers who just wish to buy a couple of stands rather than a batch of 5! Remember though it is still cheaper to buy in batches of 5 -which you can mix -n-match to suit your requirements!

March 14th: we have re-activated the weights Bernd had with him in England and we hope to upload some Modern Baccart, some special Caithness and possibly a couple of other things this week. We have bought in a fair amount of new stock recently but getting around to writing texts and photographing the weights all takes time!

March 1st: as Bernd will have a number of weights currently on the website at the PCC Meeting (March 5th) & at the NPS Meeting (March 12th), they have been deactivated to avoid “double sales”. Weights which were sold at the Cambridge Glass Fair will be activated again before being moved to the archive!

February 23rd: as we will be exhibiting some of the weights currently on the website at the Cambridge Glass Fair on Sunday, 27th February, they have been deactivated to avoid any chance of “a double sale”!

January 10th: updates today include some great new weights from Mike Hunter, a Willy Manson, limited editions from St. Louis and some interesting Whitefriars. We are also continuing to work on updating our archive but with some 500 images - plus German and English texts - it’s a slow process.  Next up will be Clichy followed by the other French glasshouses.

January 2nd:
getting the first batch of books packed and ready to be shipped took up a fair amount of time over the holiday period. New insertions will be posted just as soon as we can get around to writing/translating texts and doing some photography!

December 30th:
Copies of “Classic Paperweights from Silesia/Bohemia were despatched today to all those who had placed orders for the book since it was first listed on our website...and thank them for their patience. We apologize again for the completely unnecessary delays caused by the printers. As of the New Year, the book should be available through the online shop.

December 14th:
Believe it or not, the first copies of “Classic Paperweights from Silesia/Bohemia” arrived yesterday, so we should soon be able to start sending out orders...but don’t hold your breath ...the PO put a damper on things by saying that due to the Christmas rush - plus the terrible weather - they had such a backlog of parcels, even airmail could take 3 weeks or more - certainly to more distant destinations.

Sunday, December 12th:
If all goes according to plan, we hope to soon start sending out our book “Classic Paperweights from Silesia/Bohemia” to the first customers who ordered it, so we will probably be unable to update the website much before the end of the year. But keep watching this space, as we do have some new Modern French (both Baccarat and St. Louis) and more new weights from Mike Hunter, Paul Ysart, Perthshire and Whitefriars - including a highly sought after Owl on a green ground!

Thursday, December 2nd
As we will be taking some of the weights, currently listed on the website, to the meetings in England, these will be removed for the duration. With the 2 meetings a week apart, Bernd will probably not be back before the 16th or 17th of December.

Wednesday, November 17th
We have re-activated those weights that were not sold at the National Glass Fair in Birmingham last weekend. We hope to list some new stock in the next couple of weeks.

Thursday, November 11th:

Some of the website pages have been depleted slightly, as we have de-activated a number of weights, which we are taking to the National Glass Fair in Birmingham this weekend.

Monday October 18th:

New stock from Peter McDougall - the closepack is already sold but  can be re-ordered - and some stunning new designs from Mike Hunter, Twists Glass. Having finally got around to photographing the weights, writing the texts and listing them last night, we omitted to update our New Insertions column, which didn’t stop a customer on the other side of the world - “Down Under” - quickly buying 2 of Mike’s weights...just goes to show that you have to check the website regularly, especially when we have been away on a buying trip.

Sunday August 29th:
We have some new stock from Cathy Richardson; a number of new Perthshire PP’s and a few copies of the 2010 PCA Bulletin.

Sunday August 22nd:

Today's new insertions include
John Deacons and other Scottish artists and glassworks, that were not previously represented: Salvador Ysart, Ysart Brothers/Vasart, and William Manson Snr.

Sunday August 15th:
American artists and Studios take precedence in our listings today with weights from Rick Ayotte, Correia, Paul Stankard, Debbie Tarsitano and Mayauel Ward.
As announced on our news page last week we have 2 new additions - a bouquet and a bird study - from Rick; an early Chris Buzzini design for Correia; some excellent examples of Paul Stankard’s earlier work; 2 flower designs from Debbie Tarsitano and 2 compound torchwork weights from Mayauel Ward.

Sunday August 8th:
The focus today is again on Scottish paperweights - specifically from Strathearn,    including a couple of signed and dated examples...in line with our policy of trying to offer as wide a range of paperweights as possible for all tastes.

Saturday July 31st:
Modern French paperweights feature in today’s update of the Baccarat and St.Louis website pages...including a millefiori concentric and Zodiac plus 3 Gridel silhouette weights from Baccarat and millefiori and lampwork from St. Louis.

Sunday July 25th:
American artists feature in today’s website updates; designs from Lundberg Studios, flower weights from Ken Rosenfeld and a few bouquets from Mayauel Ward out of a collection we acquired. Under Accessories, Stands & Risers we have introduced a new, smaller acrylic Shoe Stand, which is ideal for miniature paperweights, so you might care to check out our new stock.

Saturday July 17th:
Among the new weights we have listed today are some Perthshire Annual Collections and paperweights by Peter McDougall and Paul Ysart.

Sunday July 11th:
New insertions today include 2 Antique Baccarat flowers, 4 Clichy weights and a couple of German post-classic weights.

Monday June 14th:
Latest updates include lampwork from Chris Buzzini and millefiori from Charles Kaziun Jr. Apart from his millefiori work, there is also a lampwork convolvulus from Charles Kaziun and there are 8 examples of flowers and bouquets from Chris Buzzini including pieces from the 80s and 90s.

Sunday June 13th:
New today: lampwork pieces by 3 artists; Rick Ayotte, David Graeber and Andrew Byers. Due to an unfortunate mishap - which resulted in damage - we were forced to remove Rick’s “Red Cardinal” from our listings. In its place, however, we have a bouquet of roses; also listed is a yellow rose bouquet from David Graeber and - for the first time - we are offering an environmental study from New Zealand artist Andrew Byers.

Saturday June 12th:
Updates today include 6 weights from lampwork artist Allan Scott and 6 Modern St. Louis weights.

Thursday 3rd June:
We have listed a few more weights in the Antique section, for instance Baccarat/Dupont, St Mandé, Germany, Venice and NEGC... Please click on the relevant categories.

Friday May 28th:
We have listed new Modern European weights from Mike Hunter (Twists Glass), Peter McDougall (PMcD Glass Studio)and some Perthshire PP weights. Check out the relevant categories.

Thursday May 6th:
We have listed some PCA Bulletins (2007-2009) in our new Books & Catalogues category...so if anyone is looking for back copies we have 2 of the 2007 edition, only one 2008 and 4 copies of 2009. We have also listed a catalogue (the only one we have currently) and under Reference Books some advance information about a new book by Peter von Brackel on “Classic Paperweights from Silesia/Bohemia”, which we hope will be available by mid-summer.

Monday May 3rd:
Time and tide wait for no man...and everything took longer than expected, but to celebrate our re-launched website, we have listed approx. 75 new paperweights accumulated over the past few months, i.e. during the time we were unable to upload anything due to the “gremlins”!

Updates in the Antique category include:
Baccarat, Clichy, St. Louis, St. Mandé, Old English and Germany...

New arrivals in the Modern category (Europe) are:
Baccarat, Caithness, John Deacons, Selkirk, Whitefriars and Paul Ysart.

While in Modern America we have new weights from:
Melissa Ayotte
, bird studies from Rick Ayotte, millefiori from Jim Brown, a Cape Cod scrambled, florals from Jeremiah Lotton, Lotton Studios, millefiori from Parabelle and beautiful lampwork from Cathy and Colin Richardson (Touchstone Glass) and Trabucco Studio.
