In the centre of a translucent cobalt-blue colour ground is a large single clematis. The tips of dark-green leaves are set between the finely-ribbed white & mauve petals. The continuous border garland has 3 different types of millefiori canes - 6 large complex violet, white & green cogs separate alternate groups of smaller blue & white tubes and red & white corrugated canes.
The weight is cut with a circular top facet and 6 side facets. Commissioned by a customer while Peter was working at Selkirk Glass, it has no “PH cane”, but is scratch-signed & dated on the polished, concave base: Peter Holmes Selkirk Glass Scotland 1990 1/1.
