Lotton Studios is part of a family business, involving 3 generations of glass artists: including Charles Lotton, who taught himself the art of glass blowing in 1970, and his son Daniel. Grandson Timothy, nephew Jerry Heer - who embarked on his glass-making career in the late 1980s - and Scott Bayless - who began his career in art glass in 1996 - together form Lotton Studios. Apart from producing fine vases and perfume bottles, Jerry and Scott are the two artists mainly involved in developing new paperweight designs. They both sign their own work.
