Correia Art Glass in southern California was founded in 1974 by Steven Correia. His first interest was in sculpture and ceramics before he turned to glass work. Early paperweights from the studio mainly featured Tiffany-style iridescent surface designs. Torchwork and lampwork designs with acquatic, animal and floral motifs followed later. One of the artists who worked at Correia between 1983 and 1986 was Chris Buzzini. Correia paperweights are signed and dated and, in the case of limited editions, also numbered.
