The NPS meeting involves the usual end of year Annual General Meeting and some less serious business afterwards. Dealers will be present, so plenty of opportunities for Christmas presents - even it is one for yourself!
Sunday 20th November: The speaker at the PCC Christmas meeting in Knowle will be Craig Deacons - one of the younger generation of paperweight makers - accompanied by a man who can look back on years of experience - Dave Moir.
The NPS meeting involves the usual end of year Annual General Meeting and some less serious business afterwards. Dealers will be present at both venues.

We will again be in the Edmund Rack Pavilion but at a different stand - Stand 50 - it’s in the same block but around the other side!
(Not quite so draughty, maybe!)
At the end of that week - on Saturday, September 24th - the PCC will meet at the Greswolde Hotel in Knowle (just off the M42 Motorway at Junction 5). The guest speaker will be Andy Nowson, talking about his illustrated history of Caithness Glass and he will be joined by designer Alastair MacIntosh.
The next day, Sunday, September 25th, the Cambridge Glass Fair will take place at its regular venue, Chilton Hall Vineyard in Linton - some 15 miles outside the city.

Tuesday, July 5th: the next scheduled PCC Meeting will be held on Saturday 16th July. The venue will be the Merrymouth Inn, Fifield (near Burford in the Cotswolds). The guest speaker will be Alan Thornton, who has chosen as his topic “Fakes, Forgeries and Misunderstandings” - a fairly light-hearted look at a subject which leaves plenty of room open for discussion!! This will be a slightly more in-depth version of the talk which Alan gave in Cologne at the PCC International Paperweight Weekend in mid-June, when one of the other speakers cancelled at the last moment and Alan stepped in to fill the gap.
Monday, June 20th: Following our successful first International Paperweight Weekend, we will be present at the NPS Collectors Meeting to be held at the Mercure Bowden Hotel in Altrincham (south of Manchester) on Saturday June 25th . The next scheduled meeting will be the PCC Summer Meeting at the Merrymouth Inn, Fifield ( near Burford in the Cotswolds) on Saturday July 16th.
Wednesday, May 18th: the next major event on our agenda will, of course, be the PCC International Paperweight Weekend, which we are hosting here in Cologne, June 17th -20th. Glass artist Mike Hunter - who not only makes great paperweights but also beautiful pieces of art glass and jewellery - will talk about his work, and Peter von Brackel’s subject will be research for his book “Classic Paperweights from Silesia/Bohemia” and no doubt, he’ll have a few examples of weights with him. Another guest was to be Peter Holmes with a talk on his mentor Paul Ysart - but currently for a number of reasons, Peter is not sure whether he will be able to join us.
Wednesday May 4th: our next events will be the Antique & Collector’s Fair in Shepton Mallet (May 6th-8th) and the National Glass Fair on Sunday May 15th at the Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham. The Fair is open Friday 6th May from 12 noon to 5.00pm, Saturday from 9.00am until 5.00pm and Sunday from 10.00am until 4.00pm. Shepton Mallet is beautifully situated in southwest England near Glastonbury.

The guest speaker at the PCC meeting will be Peter Holmes talking about - and showing - some special weights from his “mentor” - Paul Ysart. The Dulwich Fair is a new event for us and a trial to see if ceramic and glass collectors make a good mix!
